Loader Troubleshooting Guide

Error: Loader Crashes Instantly on Startup

Problem: The application window fails to open and the loader closes immediately.

Solution: Install the Microsoft WebView2 runtime, which is required for the loader's interface.

  1. Download the Evergreen Standalone Installer (x64) from: Microsoft Edge WebView2
  2. Run the installer and restart your computer.

Error: Failed to remove LocalAppData Steam directory: Access is denied. (os error 5)

Problem: The loader lacks permission to modify necessary files.

Solution: Run the loader with administrator privileges.

Fix: Right-click the loader's executable file and select "Run as administrator".

Error: Failed to remove LocalAppData Steam directory: Access is denied. (os error 2)

Problem: The loader cannot find the specified directory to remove it.

Solution: Perform a clean reinstall of Steam.

Fix:

  1. Uninstall Steam via Windows Settings.
  2. Manually delete any leftover Steam folders in C:\Program Files (x86)\ and C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Local\.
  3. Download and install the latest version of Steam from the official website.

Error: Failed to create 0x100 file: local error 0x998

Problem: A network-related error is preventing the loader from creating an essential file.

Solution: Bypass the restriction by using a VPN.

Fix: Connect to a VPN. If the issue persists, try a different VPN server or provider.

Error: failed to fetch

Problem: The server is rejecting the login request due to too many attempts.

Solution: Wait and then use a VPN to get a new IP address.

Fix: Wait several minutes before trying again. For the next attempt, connect to a VPN to avoid the rate-limit on your IP address.
